Extremely well preserved, with no flaws. The son of an Ontario coach driver, Henry Stull landed in New York to pursue a career as an actor, got a job with an insurance firm, began to sketch pictures of boats and horses, and found his way to the staff of Leslie’s Illustrated Weekly. There he began to produce commissions for Mr. August Belmont Sr., and his career painting racehorses took off.
