Measures approx. 28 mm wide. Features highly domed shape with nicely detailed Russian national emblem of Double-Headed Eagle. Serrated raised rim. The reverse has stamped maker mark “Kopeikin St. Petersburg”. The reference to St. Petersburg dates the button to no later than 1914 (immediately after the start of the Great War, the city was given the new, more Russian-sounding name Petrograd.)The button is in VERY GOOD condition – unlike most of the other original Imperial buttons that survived to our days, it is not a relic dug-up after 100+ years in the ground. It is free of dents or nicks and held its domed shape perfectly. The gold finish and details of the double-headed eagle emblem are very well preserved.
