It is thought that the source of the view is a drawing by Charles Buxton, and that in the background is Bowling Green and the British leaving New York. Incised "Wood" to base. Early 19th Century. This example is the larger size. Approx. 9"H X 11"W Condition: Nice condition, crack to bottom, discoloration, chip to side raised section, minor flakes here and there, chip to underside of interior rim, otherwise minor imperfections to be expected with age.
