These Herm Sprenger Curogan fur saver dog training collars come in two sizes of wire thickness 3mm and 4mm. All collar measurements include both large end O rings ( collars are measured from the outer tip of one end O ring to the outer tip of the other end O ring) 3mm thickness works for the dogs up to 65-70lbs4mm thickness works for the dogs best on dogs over 70 lbs. Please keep in mind that 4mm chains are a lot thicker and heavier than 3mm. How to measure your dog: Please measure dog's neck and add 2"-2.5" inches for large dogs and approximately 1.5" for smaller dogs. Fur saver and choke chains have to be able to slide over dog's head and ears. Fur saver and choke chains cannot be adjusted, that is why it is very important for them to fit properly. Some breeds have (ex. English Bulldog) their head a lot larger than their necks, in this case chain has to be long enough to slide over dog's head.
