Includes a vast number of the Civil War illustrations published by Harper & Brothers in “Harper's Weekly” throughout the course of the Civil War. These are two very large volumes that have been professionally restored/rebound in modern cloth bindings. The covers appear new, but there is some internal damage. In Volume 1, the front endpaper and title page are chipped and the title page is loose. The large Map of the Southern States had separated along the fold ad shows some slight shipping to the edges. The map is complete, although it is in 2 pieces. Volume 2 shows some light edge chipping to front endpaper and title page. Despite this noted damage, the volumes are largely intact and complete. I will call the books Good, but they are actually fairly sound. Books measure 11 5/8 X 16 , 836 pages, WITH HUNDREDS OF CIVIL WAR ILLUSTRATIONS!!!! A SCARCE FEW copies of this set can be found on other internet booksites for $300 to upwards of $471!!!! Individual volumes are being offered for upwards of $120 EACH!!
