Some of the fairy tales included in the book are The Snow Queen, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Mermaid, The Nightingale plus three more stories. The Disney movie, "Frozen," is inspired by the Snow Queen, and Disney's,"The Little Mermaid," by The Mermaid. This book was published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1911 and is the First Edition with full cloth tan boards. All 28 illustrations (which includes the Frontispiece) have been collated; they are in fine condition with no fading or folds. The frontispiece has a captioned tissue guard. The endpapers have a repeating abstract peacock design. The book is 11 1/4" x 9" x 2" and contains 250 pages. This antique book is in very good condition with gentle soiling and wear. The gilt on the decorative front board is still bright, but the spine shows some foxing and fading. There is age-related toning to the front and back endpapers, but no bookplate or previous owner's name. Also, there is slight age-related toning to the inside pages, but no unwanted writing or tears. The final photo shows that the hinge netting is visible between the two preliminary pages at the front. The hinge in the back of the book is uncracked.
