Samuel "Sam" King studied during several summers as a young man under the famous maritime artist, Gordon Grant in East Gloucester, MA. Marker on the back of this lovely estate sale piece states these facts along with the artist having been 91 at the time of creation. Gordon Grant (1875-1962) was a listed artist was a noted American artist, well-known for his maritime watercolors, and his work with the American Boy Scouts. He was born in San Francisco in 1875, and died in 1962. His best known work is likely his watercolor of the USS Constitution Framed this piece measures: 20.5" tall27" wide7/8" deep Signed at bottom right: Sam King Fabulous Used VINTAGE Condition some slight frame wear - a couple of tears in the paper backing & very slight scratches to the wood.
