Description: Looking for that rare, coral, Coronado Franciscan vase to complete your Gladding, McBean & Co. collection? Look no further! Founded in Lincoln, CA in 1875, and one of the "Big Five" in the early 20th century California Pottery scene, it wasn't till 1934 that Gladding, McBean & Co. - under the Franciscan Ware label - began producing art ware like this gorgeous vase. Standing just under 5.5", this hefty vase weighs in at well over 1.5 lbs. With its light, pinky coral color, the raised, swirling, gently swaying exterior adds a sense of warmth, depth and texture, circling from its nearly 3" in diameter base to its 5.5" top. The bottom of this rare beauty bares the "F" stamp, along with "Made in U.S.A." Only used by Gladding, McBean & Co for a few months between September 1938 - February 1939, the "F" backstop is highly sought by collectors. Chip, crack and crazing free, the only discernible blemish is a slight, pale discoloration on one of the swirls (please see pics). Other than that, this piece is in remarkable shape. ***Hello Shopper With Discerning Taste!*** Thanks so much for checking out BricABrac Brigade!
