Description: A twenty-four piece collection of one-ounce sterling silver proof medallions entitled The Great Chiefs of the American Indian Nations by the American Indian Heritage Foundation and produced by the Franklin Mint circ late 1970s. Each medallion was designed by the celebrated artist Oren Lyons and includes Quetzalcoatl, Hiawatha, Powhatan, Massasoit, King Philip, Pope, Pontiac, Red Jacket, Sequoya, Black Hawk, Tecumseh, Roman Nose, Sitting Bull, Geronimo, Black Kettle, Cochise, Standing Bear, Seattle, Red Cloud, Osceola, Crazy Horse, Joseph, Quanah Parker, and Black Elk. Each medallion features a portrait image on the obverse with further information on each person's importance in history on the reverse. Medallions are secured within two trays of twelve, and further housed in a case with a history card on each Chief and a COA located under the bottom tray.
