In publisher's purple cloth with folding frontispiece map and ten engraved plates throughout, all present as called for. A solid copy with limited rubbing; spine is intensely sunned; small contemporary ink note on the verso of the first blank with some offsetting to the back of the frontispiece map; small moisture spot to the fore-edge of the textblock that has left a tideline to the outer margin about about a dozen leaves, not affecting text and not very off-putting; rear free endpaper is adhered to the final blank leaf at the top corner. A popular genre in the mid-19th century, there were many of these guides to the springs of Virginia and other attractions. The author, Edward A.
