The pin measures approximately ½ inch tall and 1 ½ inches wide. It is made of a gold-colored metal and red enamel. The center features the symbol of the GDR. The reverse has a pin with an open loop catch for attaching garment. It is not hallmarked. This particular example is in excellent condition showing only light age.
