Description: Rare early original vintage Real Photo Post Card (RPPC) photograph shows a view looking down Canal Street in Bloomington Wisconsin. Back has a BLOOMINGTON WIS. post mark dated Sep 11 1908 and an early Benjamin Franklin 1 cent stamp (see scan). This is a vintage photograph and not a copy or reproduction. The town was officially named Bloomington in 1867 after the agricultural "blooming" that occurred in the area after a local blacksmith patented a device for sowing oats. The history of the town is evident in the limestone and brick construction of many of the original buildings along main street. Real Photo Post Card measures 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches and is in very good condition with a couple minor bends and light edge wear (see scan). There are no tears or creases and the image is very sharp. Back is described above. Please email with any questions and please "VIEW SELLERS OTHER ITEMS".
