Description: Crash Dive is a 1996 action thriller movie that takes place on the nuclear submarine USS Ulysses. Ulysses, a 688 Attack Class atomic submarine patrolling in the South Atlantic, encounters five survivors of a shipwreck clinging to a lifeboat hundreds of mies from any available rescue ship. Although their orders prohibit them from taking passengers on board, Commander Derek decides to rescue them. "We can't just leave them to die out there." But the shipwreck is a hoax and the survivors are a band of terrorists. On board the Ulysses, the terrorists, lead by Jan Richter, take control of the submarine and its Commander Derek is shot and non-essential crew members are taken prisoner. Key crew members are told at gunpoint to chart a new course. Destination: Washington, D.C. Purpose: Nuclear blackmail and terrorism. A billion dollars in gold bullion or Washington D.C. becomes ground zero in a nuclear attack. As the highest halls of government scramble in terror, one man embarks on a mission to help save his country. Navy Data Analyst, expert in submarines, secretly scuba-dives onto the Ulysses. Quickly and covertly, he assembles an anti-terrorist team using the combined skills of the submarine crew members. Hiding onboard the Ulysses, Carter begins playing a deadly game of cat and mouse with the terrorists, luring them into the dark regions of the sub and eliminating them. But the terrorists fight back with added force. Carter fears he may not get out alive. Outnumbered, trapped with few places to hide and no chance for escape, he must fight for his life... and the future of the United States, against a crack team of terrorists lead by a smooth and crafty maniac.
