Description: Adapts a Sieg C0 steady rest (1.5" od capacity) to your Dunlap / Craftsman 109 Lathe model number ending in "630" (Example 109-20630). This is one of the most common variations of the Craftsman 109. Lathes of this type might carry the Craftsman, Dunlap, A&A Industries or other lessor known names. Measurements are provided below to help you figure out if you can use this. Do not ask me if it fits your lathe unless you want to buy me a plane ticket to come and measure. ;-) See below. See Photo Key Below As far as I know, this is the only steady rest tooling capability ever offered for the 109 lathes. I've been developing accessories for the 109 and look forward to offering many here. The ABS Adapter is solid. Solid means no mesh fill or hidden hollow cavity. It is not flexible and very tough! Measure your lathe bed ways! There are several different widths of Craftsman 109 beds sold over the years. Width of "630" ways outside to outside is approximately 3.000". Peak of V way to Peak of V way approximately 2.485-2.500". Do not order if you did not take time to measure your lathe bed. No bothering me with returns for buy and try. I'm a little guy, not Amazon. If you mess up, the return restock fee is $10. Don't mess up. I don't currently make the other sizes but would be happy to make your size adapter block for free if you have a bed and head stock to loan me. What you are getting. You can buy just the adapter block which is the gray ABS part. Included is the special extra-long screw and washer. $44. You can buy the entire set. That includes the Sieg C0 steady rest with modifications for $135. Photos of these items will appear when you select "Tool Type". No background items are being offered and are there as props to show proper fit. If you buy your own Sieg C0 Steady Rest, what modifications are needed? The unit comes new with issues. The hold down bolt hole is at an angle. The surface where the bolt head sits is not milled flat. The hold down clamp plate also must be drilled in a new location and threaded 6mm. In fact, if you purchased this steady rest for a Sieg C0 lathe, these details mean it will not fit!!!! Sad, I know. However, if you purchase it from me, I will correct the issues. If you would like to do it yourself, it can be purchased for roughly $35-45 from Little Machine Shop. You will need an aircraft length 1/4" drill bit (drill down from top slowly to make vertical path for fastener), a 1/4" piloted flat bottom counter bore to make a 15/32 or 1/2" od flat. Also, a 6x1mm tap with 5.2mm (#6) drill bit for the clamp plate. A drill press or mill to accomplish the operations. These are easy steps if you have the tools. If you don't have the equipment or know how, just buy the complete set. I have no other instruction set other than this paragraph. If you have to ask how, that means buy the full set and not just the adapter. Brief instructions below with photos of operations above. (The steady rest itself is often purposely not available from me depending on my busy work schedule.) Key to Photos: (All these photos appear when you haven't yet selected a "Tool Type")1.
