This historic image was taken during one of the many August, 1969 rehearsals undertaken by CSNY in a rehearsal room in Stephen Stills' house, as they prepared - for the first time as a band - to perform for the public. Though "casually" taken, this image is warm and intimate... and richly deceiving. Outtakes reveal the cramped and cluttered, rug-on-the-wall atmosphere (in the renovated recreation room of Stills' Shady Oak Road home in Los Angeles) where Crosby and company first honed their live presentation.
