NOT a true RCA, but actually a customized MXL shell (the same size and general design of the RCA 77) but with all new ribbon internals. The mic's heavy-gauge aluminum casing has good weight to it, with wire upper basket, and the custom center RCA wrap-around I.D. band enhancing the "RCA 77" vibe. The aluminum support yoke with side thumbscrews adjusts the tilt angle, and has a standard 3 pin male XLR port at the bottom. The bottom casing has been painted with the same color that the RCA 77 used, "Umber Grey". This mic produces the high quality and rich tones that you'd expect from a professional ribbon microphone. (Figure 8 polar pattern, a 1.8-micron, 2" long aluminum ribbon with powerful neodymium magnets and 1:36 transformer.)
