This banknote was issued in the period 1966 through 1970 and is brown on multicolored underprint. It shows a young Queen Elizabeth II to the right on the front. It also depicts Britannia seated with shield in a circular frame right of center in the back. The back has the same color scheme as the front. The banknote has a watermark showing the head of woman wearing a laureate in a continuous fashion at the left edge of the front. The note is signed by J. S. Fforde the Chief Cashier the Bank of England at the time and has the prefix B87N. This particular note has the serial number 722779 and has a security thread which is vertical and is located right of center if you look at the front of the note. Please carefully review the scans as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: 1966-1970. Printer: Bank of England. Size: Measures ~5 1/2" by ~2 5/8". Pick Number: P 373c and is listed in the Banknote Book as B179c. Condition: I would grade this banknote as a choice very fine with all the details being very well preserved. The note has several light folds but no creases. It has light wrinkling and is relatively clean with no stains. It has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. Its corners are intact with minor bumps and some rounding. The edges are intact with minimum roughness. The note retains some of its stiffness, crispiness, and sheen.
