Description: Here we have a wonderful small cabinet classic cubic Pyrite specimen from Huanzala Mine, Huanzala, Huallanca District, Bolognesi Province, Ancash, Peru. This extremely showy and aesthetic piece features several, razor-sharp, well-formed textbook, cubic crystals of a soft golden metallic hue with the largest cube measuring approximately 2.54 cm. The piece had to be repaired, so the cubes forming the chain are no longer naturally fused. Additionally, some of the cubes show signs of healed pocket damage. At fist glance, the average person might think that pyrite cubes are man-made, and they are amazed when they learn that these incredible structures are completely natural. The cubes formed naturally and were carefully extracted from the rock where they're found using mechanical tools. Most pyrite cluster "chains" similar to this (and including this one) have to be repaired. It's fairly common for the cubes to come loose from each other during extraction from the surrounding rock they form in, so they have to be reattached back into their natural position. Dimensions: 7.62cm x 6.35cm x 6.98cm Thanks for looking!
