Description: Here I have for sale another well-preserved copy of C.S. Forester's Flying Colors published in this hardcover with pictorial dust jacket by Grosset & Dunlap in this early reprint in 1939. Chronologically #8 in the Hornblower saga timeline, this book was published by G&D by arrangement with Little Brown on the original plates. The book is VG- to Good with tight binding. Moderate scuffing and edge wear to boards and cant to spine. Significant tanning, foxing to endpapers and page ends. Pages clean and unmarked but for a prior seller's penciled price on front endpaper. The dust jacket is VG with still bright colors to jacket painting. Some fading to spine and staining to rear panel. Chipping at spine edges and panel edges. A couple of small, closed tears and creases. It is not price-clipped and is protected in mylar. Thanks and see my other listings: Hornblower Saga, Modern Firsts, Modern Library, Everyman's Library and Oxford World's Classics.
