Some Background:After the tragic death of Lady Diana Spencer(Lady Di) in 1997 the Store Players Corp. decided to make a special commemorative doll. More specifically, all her adult life Lady Di had shown great compassion and concern about terminally ill children. In recognition of her concern, Store Players decided to donate all the proceeds from the original sale of the doll to her favorite charity "Great Ormond Street Hospital". Of course other companies like Mattel and others also created dolls, but Store Players was the only company focused on leaving a lasting memory to a charity. That is what I believe makes this doll so special. Due to age and relocation the doll moves inside the package.
