My dad purchased and filed them as they were issued. The Postal Service issued the first “Celebrate The Century” souvenir sheet on February 3, 1998 in Washington, DC. It began the longest stamp series in U.S. history. Highlighting the important events of the century. Each sheet of stamps subjects a decade from the following categories: People and Events, Arts and Entertainment, Lifestyles, Sports, and Science and Technology. The series includes 150 stamps issued over the two years leading to the new century. A short description of each stamp is on the back. The set will be shipped in a cardboard box to protect them from being bent or damaged.
