Up for this auction are two Byers Choice VINTAGE MECHANICAL STORE "DISPLAY-SIZED" CHILDREN CAROLERS, 1987, RETIRED & EXTREMELY RARE. GIVEN THAT THESE "DISPLAY-SIZED" CAROLERS WERE MADE NEARLY 40 YEARS AGO, THEY ARE NOT ONLY VERY UNUSUAL, BUT ALSO QUITE HARD TO FIND. ADDITIONALLY, EACH OF THEM IS IN WORKING ORDER, WITH THE BOY SLOWLY SWINGING HIS DRUMSTICK IN PREPARATION OF PLAYING, & THE GIRL RINGING HER BELL AS SHE NODS HER HEAD SLOWLY. *NOTE: This listing includes ONLY the two BYERS CHOICE VINTAGE MECHANICAL STORE DISPLAY-SIZED CHILDREN STORE DISPLAY CAROLERS, 1987. The red backdrop on the wall & the lighted Christmas tree are NOT included! They are only used as background accessories. The two large Carolers in this listing are 24" tall "DISPLAY-SIZED" Byers Choice Carolers made in 1987; HOWEVER, they are unique in the fact that they are MECHANICAL, so each one actually moves. As mentioned earlier, the boy’s drumstick moves side to side, as if preparing to strike the drum. The girl’s head nods slowly while her arm moves side to side so that the bell actually rings There were only a limited number of "DISPLAY-SIZED" Carolers made, & these were the only 2 that were "MECHANICAL". These Carolers are EXTREMELY difficult to find, but here they are, after 37 years, & in working order, which is a testimony to their care. Each of the Carolers is COMPLETE & VERY CLEAN since they come from our personal collection. GIRL CAROLER MEASUREMENTS: Height = 24"Width = 12"Diameter = 10"Weight = 3 lbs. 5 oz. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT EVERYTHING IN MY SHOP INVENTORY IS COMPRISED OF ITEMS THAT JOHN & I HAVE COLLECTED OVER THE YEARS - NOT ACQUIRED FROM AN AUCTION OR AN ESTATE! I CAN VOUCH FOR CONDITION & PROVENANCE ON EVERYTHING. CONDITION Many of my items are vintage & fairly aged; accordingly, there may be some issues with individual pieces that are associated with the passage of time. All of my Carolers have been displayed periodically since I have owned them, SOME OF THEM ONCE OR TWICE, SOME NOT AT ALL. Each piece is gently used & may exhibit minor glitter loss and/or paint anomalies due to the vintage quality of the item. I have looked each of them over to detect any major flaws. Any serious damage, fading or discoloration that I can perceive will be disclosed; however small flaws (i.e. imperfections in the glaze/paint, a slipped stitch, etc.) may be missed.
