Produced by a division of Chein industries Burlington New Jersey brownie tin tobacco container This is a replica of an antique container manufactured in the United States circa 1912 These cute figures were once used as tobacco containers, these fine reproductions have a more practical use today as all purpose storage tins. Originally, Roly Poly consisted of six different characters made to contain four separate brands of tobacco such as Dixie Queen and Mayo brands. The Roly Polys were made around 1912 by the Tin Decorating Company (Tindeco) of Baltimore, Maryland, for the American Tobacco Company, which controlled Tindeco as well as the four brands of tobacco for which the Roly Polys were made.
