Author Biography Betty Livingston Adams is an Independent Scholar whose work focuses on American/ African American religious history. A Yale PhD, she was a Global Scholar at the Institute for Research on Women and a Fellow at the Yale Center for the Study of Material and Visual Cultures of Religion.
