BGS 9.5 Leafeon VMAX | JP Secret Rare Alt Art | Eevee Heroes 089/069

Description: Gem Mint BGS 9.5 Secret Rare (HR, or Hyper Rare) Alt Art Full Art Holo Leafeon VMAX 089/069 from Japanese Pokémon set Eevee Heroes. Printed in 2021, this card has an English equivalent from 2021 SW&SH Evolving Skies. The slab has the subgrades displayed, which is a premium service tier from Beckett. The worst subgrade is a 9 due to edge issues that the BGS grader apparently saw. I personally can’t locate any edge wear or whitening, however, so I’m not sure what sort of issues BGS took with the edges. Corners and centering were both graded at 9.5, generally agreed to be a 10 subgrade by PSA standards, and the surface was graded a 10. The surface, which is easily the most important and enjoyable aspect of this card is flawless. The texturing is prominent, the holo layer has a strong sparkle finish, and the card itself therefore reflects light in a way that is striking and allows you to see every minute detail put into this card’s design. Moreover, a BGS 9.5 is generally agreed upon to be comparable to a PSA 10, so cross-grading for a 10 is not an impossibility. I just prefer the look and quality feel of BGS slabs. Population report shows 10 copies graded at BGS 9.5 with only 19 higher, 5 of those being BGS Black Labels. This slab will be sleeved prior to shipping and will also be protected with ding defenders.
