The lead in her class and weighing in at 31,100 ton the Scharnhorst terrorized Allied merchant ships in the Atlantic shipping lanes for four years, before finally being sunk by HMS Norfolk in the Battle of the North Cape in 1943. About the Series This brand-new series focuses on the construction of famous ships - battleships, carriers, cruisers, and submarines. With ground-breaking 3D imagery, each corner, angle, and dimension of the ship is viewable. With various close-up views, and each 3D image based on actual technical scale drawings and photographs, this makes an exceptional reference tool. Information on the design, development and combat history of each vessel is also included, as well as numerous photographs and 1/350th scale drawings. Book is in Like New condition, still sealed in what I think is original plastic sleeve from the looks of the uniformity of the sleeve's adhesive seal. There are 2 slight dings on corners from storage and handling that show as tiny white specks without creases or bent pages (see pictures). To preserve the newness of the book, I have not opened the sleeve. Please see pictures as they are considered part of the condition description. I take numerous photos of the actual item and describe it as accurately as I can so you don't have to risk your buying decision on stock photos and generic condition descriptions.
