Description: The Barbershop movies are about the lives of the characters who work at a barbershop on the south side of Chicago: Barbershop (2002) Calvin Palmer, Jr. (Ice Cube) inherits his father's barbershop but views it as a burden and waste of time. He sells the shop to a loan shark, but later begins to see his father's vision. The movie follows the lives of the shop's characters, including Eddie, an old barber with strong opinions; Jimmy, a highly educated barber with a superiority complex; Ricky, an ex-con trying to stay straight; Terri, a hard-edged woman; and Dinka, a barber who is in love with Terri. Barbershop 2: Back in Business (2004) Calvin attempts to change the style and decor of his barbershop to match his rival's. However, he decides to speak out against the neighborhood's gentrification at a city council meeting.
