Description: For sale is a very rare Australia half sovereign gold coin minted in Sydney in 1860. This is the key of the series which ran from 1857 to 1866.This coin is listed in Krause as KM 3. All Australian half sovereigns from this period circulated extensively and are rare in high grades but this date is particularly difficult. Krause prices it at US$17,000 in XF40 and at US$42,000 in MS60 (which is purely theoretical since no 1860 half sovereign has been graded above AU58 by either NGC or PCGS).Unfortunately this coin has been lightly cleaned on both sides but it is still extremely attractive, in a different league than the typical VG-F examples that are easier to find.Low price for this rarity.Free Express Mail shipping in the US and free Canada and overseas Registered Air Mail shipping.
