Description: ONE OF A KIND GIFT FOR THE SCIENCE GEEK IN YOUR LIFE! This beautiful piece of laboratory treasure is part of a collection from a 100 year old junior college. When the 1930s-era science laboratory building was renovated, many of the "older" specimens were parsed out. Though I cannot with certainty date this jar, it must be pre-1967, as the General Biological Supply House closed its doors that year. I would estimate this wet jar to be circa 1950. This is a beautiful example of a vintage wet jar containing a labeled large sheep heart. An excellent addition to a classroom or general decor. Please view the pictures carefully. As you can see, all labels are clear and intact, with no evidence of deterioration. The glass jar is original condition with no chips or breaks. The heart shows a little deterioration from the years, but very reasonable given the age. The black seal on top is still fully intact. There is NO break in the jar seal. Overall, it is in very good condition. Photos attest to the quality of the preservative, with some cloudiness and tissue sediment present in the bottom. The fluid level is probably very close to original, with no broken seals or loss of preservative. The preservative is likely alcohol for a specimen of this era. Item Dimensions: 8.5"H X 5"DIAMETER I have a collection of these specimens I am selling off, so see my other listings for more options! Please see pictures for details. If you have any questions, please contact me before purchase and I will assist in any way I can. Or if you want to buy multiple items and want to make a deal! Let's talk! Combining shipping is a real hassle on these items, so if you want to buy two or more, please contact me so I can relist the group for you. I would need to be certain they could ship safely as a group. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and handling costs. The flat rate of $75 will cover the insurance, packaging, shipping, and delivery of "dangerous substances" by FedEx Ground Services. I pay for FedEx to personally package these fragile items so they are responsible for any damage from packing to delivery. Signature will be required for delivery. DOING BUSINESS AS A NEW SELLER: The last picture is from my previous account with eBay. I was forced to close it down this year due to a death in the family. There was no way for eBay to preserve my listings and seller/buyer status for me, so I included the screenshot to help buyers out as I move to this new account.
