Description: This is a stunning example of Chenille work embroidery, a bouquet of roses and pansy flowers, 19th century. The blossoms are in shades of cream, brown and red with various shades of green leaves. The frame is fine rosewood frame with gold trim and scrollwork at top. The frame was originally a fire screen, and now it is a wall hanging. Overall measurements are 17 1/4" wide x 20" tall x 1" deep. Very Very Good Antique Condition. The left scroll is missing a piece of wood. The frame is in very good to excellent condition for its age and prior use. There is a stray piece of thread - see photo.
