Description: Antique trinket box in the shape of the U.S. Capitol building. The building forms the lid, while the footed base shows other scenes from Capitol Hill. The lid is hinged, but the hinge pin appears to have been replaced with a piece of heavy-gauge wire. There is some scratching around where this was done. The base measures about 4 3/8" x 3" at the feet, while the Capitol building measures about 3 1/8" x 1.5". This is made of some non-ferrous metal. Despite its small size it weighs over a pound. The finish is alternately copper-tone and silver-tone.
