Description: Circa 1815 to 1822, this set of 5 Spode teacups (no saucers) is in incredible condition. Handpainted with cobalt blue and golden leaves and acorns, these light white porcelain footed cups have a diameter of 3.5 inches at the top. They stand 2.25 inches high. On the inside of each piece is an acorn and leaf decoration that varies from cup to cup. There are no chips, no cracks and no crazing that I can see on these antique pieces. The gilt decoration is remarkably intact for their age. Their flaws are few, including some small dots of blue paint in the white of the cups that are original to their production (see last photo), a few spots of very slight fading of the gold and some pin point-sized specks of discoloration on the cups' insides. One cup has a long scratch on its white interior; otherwise, any scratches on these collectibles are extremely faint. Three of the cups feature the Spode name handpainted in red with the number 1779 on their bottoms; the other two cups have only 1779 handpainted in red on their undersides.
