Description: Rookwood Pottery #2185 Margaret Helen McDonald Bookends 1915. Signed. Excellent condition no issues. 5.75"h x 5.2. These bookends are glazed with Rookwood's "Dip-drip " method. A cobalt blue glossy glaze-dipped gold metallic on very ends.In natural light the blue has a purple sheen in area. Very hard to find. Please see photos with impressed hallmarks, numbers and age (VX) Hard to capture the gorgeous glaze as well.Margaret was the daughter of famous Rookwood artist William McDonald. Her work is sought after and this pair of Southern Belles --their little noses in the air in flowing dress. Finding the glaze type was difficult since Rookwood ened up with 500 different glazes.
