Description: Antique, beautifully decorated bronze Ottoman Divit / traveling inkwell - Turkey, circa 1870. Most probably the former owner belonged to Greek minority in the Ottoman Empire. The inkwell is covered with a shell-shaped hinged lid, that stucked from oxidation. Beside the lid there is small rounded plaque with a portrait of a Greek soldier in helmet. I think it's a copy of an ancient money from the Roman Empire. Short Greek text fixed on red bronze colour plaque on the pen's tube. Done in thick gauge bronze, the entire surface, of the long, pen / feather casing is deeply engraved with elaborate designs of scrolling leaves with a horse in the middle - This fine Divit was actually is use and shows very mild age and use ware with no losses or repairs - please view detailed pictures After a helpfull message of a Greek collector I get know the following information about this item: This old divit has been modified for a special gift from the Greek football (soccer) association. The text says: Greek football association and the small reproduction coin is a symbol of the association as well. I think it was an individual gift, given to a divit collector and personalized with the plaque, so I think there are no similars, only one exists. It measures 20 cm long x 4.5 cm wide including the inkwell x 3.5 cm tall - Sell as it is on the photos. Worldwide shipping priority registered 3-8 weeks
