Description: Up for auction is an excellent antique American coin silver punch/soup ladle by silversmith Newell Harding, Massachusetts, circa 1860. This ladle is not the tinny lightweight type that so often shows up on E-bay. This ladle is 11 inches long with its bowl 3 1/8 inches long and 3 3/4 inches wide while weighing in at 4.8 Troy ounces. The ladle with a crisp fancy 3 letter monogram is free of dents, splits, removals, bending or thinness and has a 100% intact bowl without wear. It is stamped on the back 'N. HARDING' and 'PURE COIN (over an unknown hallmark). A fine example of a functional piece of early American silver.
