Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a nice pair of English Mappin & Webb silver plate tongs. Marked "Mappin & Webb, Princes Plate". The Mappin & Webb Company produced high quality silver plated items from 1864-1872 in both Sheffield and London. The tongs have an unusual shape with one end being flat and the other having an inwardly turned shape and I am not familiar with their purpose. Measures 5 1/2" long. Weighs 45 grams. The tongs are in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. We at Antiques & Moore have been in the Antiques business for over 30 years and try to describe our items as accurately as possible.
