Antique Lot 1920s -26" Horsman Lge. Baby Doll sleepy eye & + 21 pcs. wardrobe

Description: For your consideration is an 26" large antique baby doll made in the 1920s by E.I. Horseman Co., Inc. along with her Victorian baby wardrobe. 4 embroidered ruffled dresses including a Christening gown and slip: 2 cardigan silk tops: 4 bonnets; 4 silk like high stockings; hand knitted 2 high booties; hand knitted 2 prs short booties; a knitted head cap with pompons on the end. All are clean and excellent condition. She is 36" long, considered Large in the industry (The measurement is based on placing a book to top of head and laying out the doll to the end of her toes.) She is a beautiful life like doll of the era. There is a good use history on these dolls. She does not stand, and the legs are shaped as an infant baby rather than toddler, although she is large. The doll's eyes open and close. The eyelashes appear to be natural hair. This doll was given to my mother when she was abt. 7-8 years old in 1936. She was loved and played with. Given extra attention, clothes were fashioned for her. They in themselves are rare treasures with hand embroidery, detail ruffles, rosette ribbons and lace cut outs. The doll has issues. She is very large for a small girl to carry about which is probably her why her limbs show wear in spots. The cloth body is discolored. The stitching at the crotch is opened. There are repair patches to feet and hands that have become visible. The composition head is good except for the Knick on the tip of her nose, the yellow paint applied over the embossed hair area which was darker blonde. The doll had 2 teeth. They must have dislodged into the head. There is a rattling noise. There are many good resources online and on uTube for the restoration of composition dolls especially under the maker's name brand.
