Description: Antique Folding 4-Sided Child's School Slate Writing Tablet. Estimated to be pre-1900s. Outside dimensions of frame are 8.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Inside slate dimensions are 7 inches by 5 inches. Slate is framed in wood, bound with leather and tied with cord (possibly shoestring). Wood frame is uniquely mitered and notched at corners and still fairly tight. Leather has rubbed through on a couple of corners but not significantly. Cord is frayed in a couple places and loose along hinge side. Free shipping is USPS Ground Advantage in a recycled shipping box. Tablet is wrapped in tissue and bubble wrap and cushioned with packing styrofoam.
