Antique c.1904-1924 Porcelain Serving Bowl & 4 Bowls made in Germany for L.S.&S.

Description: This is a lovely antique set of a large serving bowl and 4 small bowls, made in Germany for Lazarus Straus & Sons company named New York and Rudolstadt Pottery company to sell in Macys department store in New York. This antique porcelain set is really quite pretty, with the bowls’ interiors decorated with four arcs edged in gold with a pale blue design at the top and sprigs of pale pink roses below. In between the arcs, are another set of pink roses on a dark red background outlined in gold. The porcelain itself is a very bright white. Very pretty and delicate. When I glance at them, the pale blue against the white interior of the bowl, reminds me of the blue sky and clouds for some reason. The serving bowl is about 2 & 1/2 inches tall, about 9 & 1/4 inches in diameter, and weighs 1 pound. The small bowls stand 1 & 1/4 inches tall and are 5 & 3/8 inches in diameter. The small bowls weigh about 4 ounces each and hold about 3/4 of a cup. The serving bowl weighs 1 pound and holds 4 cups. The under glaze green backstamp of a two headed eagle in a shield, with the word Schwarzburg underneath, is called the Schwarzburg mark and was used from 1904-1924 according to porcelainmarksandmore.com. The set is in excellent antique shape, with no cracks, or crazing. One of the small bowls has a very small chip on the underneath edge that can be seen in picture #13 and the last picture shows it from two different angles. It is not noticeable from the front, but can be seen looking at the side or from the back. I am thinking this set was mostly unused because there are very few faint utensil marks in the glaze looking at an angle to the light. There is a bit of rub wear to the gold trim, but not much. Really a beautiful antique set! Pretty to display and use for fruit salad, for example. Please zoom in on the pictures and see the 360 degree video for a closer look.
