Description: Antique 19thC French Art Nouveau Porcelain Gilt Ormolu Centerpiece Vase Compote Click images to enlarge Description DESCRIPTION: Today we are pleased to present for sale a rare and beautiful antique French decorative centerpiece vase. Our consignor's grandmother acquired this piece at an estate sale held at the former Point Breeze estate in Bordentown, NJ in the 1950's. Point Breeze was an estate in Bordentown, New Jersey. It was the home of Joseph Bonaparte, the brother of Napoleon Bonaparte, from 1816 to 1839. Three mansions were erected on the site and none survive today, with the last Point Breeze mansions burning down in 1983. This Victorian centerpiece vase, intended for a grand dining table or console, is done in the Art Nouveau style. It features a large bronze/brass ormolu tripodal base, adorned with swirling ormolu flowers encircling a conical ivory-colored porcelain vase hand-painted with delicate roses, and featuring regal cobalt and gilt border. The interior of the vase is fitted with a bronze bowl. The piece is marked with manufacturing numbers on the base and sides. The vase is perfect to display a potted plant or a dried flower arrangement. The stunning vase will make a great addition to any collection! CONDITION: The centerpiece presents well and is in good antique condition, with minor display wear and patina commensurate with age and use. The ormolu has minor wear, tarnish, loss to gilding, and minor dust accumulation. The porcelain has minor wear, minimal loss to painted finish but no visible damage - it was not removed from its mount for further inspection. Please review all photos before purchasing. DIMENSIONS: 10-3/8" in height, 12-5/8" in length/width base INVENTORY CODE: 716/KK/F Payment Please remit promptly, via PayPal. Thank you! Shipping We are experienced shippers!
