Description: This highly collectible 1919 copy of "Cinderella" is illustrated in silhouette by the famous golden age illustrator Arthur Rackham. It has the unusual distinction of being accompanied by its original dust jacket, which is in surprisingly good shape. Quite the score for the collector of Rackham's works, or fairy tales more generally. I'm including with this book the gift note included by the seller, which reads: "Dec 2017 / To Lucy / This book belonged to my Grandmother. Which means she was your Great Great Great Grandmother. / She would be happy to know it has passed down so many generations. / I hope you will treasure it as I have. / With much love / Your Great Grandmother / Hilary-Anne [illegible]" This book measures about 10 inches tall and 7 3/4 inches wide. The cover of this book is in fantastic shape with only mild bumping to its corners. The original paper jacket has some relatively minor chips and one larger closed tear to its front bottom edge. The interior of the book is clean and it has healthy hinges and binding. Its tipped in frontispiece is accounted for and its tissue guard intact, albeit tanned and creased.
