Description: Original Al Cass trumpet mouthpiece 60 years old! NOS prototype. 2-24. This is the same size used by Dizzy Gillespie minus the custom A backbore, however, before the backbore was developed, he likely used a non-A version. Ultimately, the 2 series was created for Dizzy Gillespie. This is the end of the road extreme size 24 throat in the series. Once this is gone, it’s gone do not expect a 2–24 to ever show up in this condition again. I do have a 2-24A but am keeping it. Note, that all the pieces currently offered at this time seem too incredible to be true, but rest assured they are from the Steve Cass collection and represent many never seen sizes. Many of these pieces accompanied the maker at conventions back in the 50s and 60s so may have been tested when showed off at that time.
