The division disembarked at Lehavre France then moved to the line to replace the 8th Infantry Division near Cologne (Koln). The division entered combat at Atterdorn. Subsequently it took Hagen and Hohenlimburg with the 341st and 342nd Infantry Regiments respectively. The division participated in the Central Europe Campaign taking Ansbach, Eichstatt, and Ingolstadt. The division secured the area around Wasserburg and was near Salzberg Austria when hostilities cease on 7 May 1945.
