They are famous for introducing innovative techniques and designs to the market. In order to reduce the cost of carving the knight's head, they introduced the newly developed plastic Xylonite to cast the heads of knights. 2nd important innovation of there's was to introduce double collared pawns. This was rumoured to increase the strength of the pieces and prevent them from cracking. Its validity is however unproven. BCC is famous for introducing 2 important variations for there designs. Royal Chessmen and Imperial Chessmen.Our pieces have not been done with King-side stamping as their is no conclusive evidence that BCC stamped there sets.
