The Sporting News Charles Martin Conlon #40 - George "Buck" Weaver, 1915 Chicago White Sox shortstop/third baseman ~ "Kid" Gleason is over Weaver's right shoulder 4x5-inch Limited Edition Card From the early days of the dawning of the 20th century, the photographic artistry of Charles Martin Conlon was featured in baseball guides, daily newspapers, monthly magazines and, of course, The Sporting News - then America's Base Ball paper of record. Conlon's work also appeared on baseball cards. After a 60-year absence from that medium, in 1981 The Sporting News created a 100-card set from original Conlon glass negatives. Issued in classic sepia, this is one of those cards. Card size is 4 by 5 inches (4X5). Cards of this size fit best in either 3-pocket sheets designed for cards up to 4" X 6" or standard 2-pocket pages constructed for 5" X 7" photos and cards.
