Ashton pipes continues with Jimmy Craig so Ashton’s tradition of fine English pipes continues. But Bill Taylor pipes are special especially early ones like this one. This pipe is dated 1986 and ring grains are reasonably rare. In addition, this is the fairly rare XX size that weighs only 1.22 ounces. And I am always a sucker for those Cumberland stems. The Relief grain of the pipe is outstanding. Check out the grain on all sides of the bowl and shank. Dunhill would be jealous! It has a stunning Cumberland Fishtail stem. There is only a minor amount of rim char, and no teeth chatter.
