Though not numerically rare, the 5503 is seen only about a fifth as often as the standard Dress model (the 5408), and fully-working, minty examples, as we see here, are sought-after collectors' items. It is still accompanied by its rare, original "flip-top" presentation box, which is in excellent condition.This watch has only seen a trace of wear, remarkable considering its near-50 year age. It still has a bright, full display, keeps good time (could be adjusted), and all setting functions operate as they should.
