1960's Bill Freehan Wilson A2575 catchers mitt glove RH USA Detroit Tigers patch

Description: Here is used vintage mid/late 1960's - early 1970's Wilson Bill Freehan endorsed model A2575 baseball catchers mitt made in USA for a Right-Hand thrower and thus fits on the left hand. Freehan was a right-handed thrower. The mitt fits my adult hand and appears to be an adult mitt. It measures 11" long through the pocket 11.5" straight across and measures a big 34" around the exterior. I couldn't find this model number in the Wilson catalog endorsed by Bill Freehan but it would appear to be a mid-line or lower end mitt, mainly based on the cheaper piping material used around the mitt. Stamped on the front of the mitt is Wilson, Made in U.S.A., A2575, Grip-Tite Pocket, Bill Freehan (facsimile signature) and Twin Action. On the back is stamped Made in USA (in a circle logo), Streamlined Fingers, Pat. No. 2231204 and Canada - 198340-1941. There is also an original black and gold cloth Wilson patch showing some wear. Decent looking vintage catchers mitt that shows moderate use and looks good. There is no owner's ink on the mitt. Decent soft and smooth leather on the exterior and interior. No chafing on the interior leather. The leather lacing and welting is nice. The piping on the backstrap is leather, but the rest of the piping on the mitt is the soft vinyl over cloth material, and there is wear on the covering exposing the cloth underneath in numerous places. Mitt has an original black and gold Wilson cloth patch that shows some wear. A little patchy staining on the front side. The stamping is all readable.Bill Freehan (RH thrower and hitter) played his entire 15-year career with the Detroit Tigers. The premier catcher in the AL for several years from the 1960s into the early 1970s, he was named an AL All-Star in 11 seasons, the most All-Star seasons for a player to not be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was the MVP runner-up for the Tigers 1968 World Series winning team. He was a5 time Gold Glove winner as a catcher. His career totals of 200 homers and 2,502 total bases placed him behind only Yogi Berra and Bill Dickey among AL catchers when he retired.I have other gloves and mitts on eBay now as auctions and/or Buy it Now, and I like to combine shipping whenever possible.
