This was the best sounding table top Victorola RCA made it introduced the brand new “Orthophonic High Fidelity”. *Trivia Note* Orthophonic was originally introduced in 1926 by the Victor Co. In the 1950s, RCA Victor re-used the brand to introduce new innovations in LP fidelity with the name "New Orthophonic High Fidelity”. It's about as original as "New England" and "New York." But it worked. RCA saw the brand as one that succeeded, one that kept them alive through the golden age of radio. Back to the description: This player is Mahogany it is a survivor all original. Not restored! The RCA RP-190 turntable mechanism The 45 RPM only phonograph was totally disassembled. The RCA Victor 7- HF-45 was then cleaned and tested, reassembled, polished and properly lubed. Then adjusted to the manufacturers specifications. The tone arm lays down gently exactly at the beginning of the record and picks up correctly at records end each and every time. This 4 tube 50 watt amplifier has plenty of power to drive the built in 6" full range speaker with 4" crossover tweeter. This is true high fidelity. The player provides excellent frequency range, the bass is enhanced while playing with the lid closed. The was RCA’s top of the line tabletop Victorola in 1956 only flaw that this survivor has; is the medallion that was affixed to the inside of the lid is missing. The original mahogany cabinet is in exceptional condition. It is original showing minimal signs of wear with no touch ups or refinishing.
