Description: Here's a great photo of one of the most iconic races of the entire 20th century with Seabiscuit winning the 1940 Santa Anita Handicap and setting the all-time earnings mark in track record time in front of a massive crowd. This is a unique shot from inside the rail and shows Seabiscuit hitting the wire with Kayak II and Whichcee chasing. Most of the photos of this famous race are from the traditional spot on the outside rail (you can see a bunch of photographers there in this shot) but there are far fewer shots from the inside rail. This has the Acme Photo stamp on the back and the original paper caption. The photo measures 7"x9". There is some waviness to the photo from the adhesive used for the caption but no rips, tears or creases. Really a great shot and a very rare photo to find. Please review the photos and use the magnify feature to review the condition. We guarantee satisfaction with the racing items we sell, so if you are not happy with it then it can be returned for a full refund, assuming it is returned in the same condition of course. Shipping is $4.95, which includes shipping in a rigid mailer protected by cardboard. We are always happy to combine shipping on multiple items. If you are buying multiple programs or photos in the same transaction then you only pay shipping on the first one and the rest are free! Please see our other auctions for an extensive collection of historic horse racing programs, trophies and memorabilia featuring horses like Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Dr. Fager, Damascus, Dan Patch, Buckpasser, Kelso and other champions and Kentucky Derby winners. We will be selling off most of our collection over the next couple months.
